Foster in 1863 and had at least on child named Frank in 1870... does anyone have info on this family the surname is spelled BOSTWICK and BOSTICK, Gilman also had a brother named Gilbert, possibly his twin who was also listed in the census... any info would be greatly appreciated.

Note: Query was updated September 2004 - I am trying to connect two Macomb County DIENER families. They both lived in Macomb County in the 1800s. The family of August and Ernestina Wildprett Diener and the family of Christian and Helena Bolton Diener. Christian and Helena's son's; Christian and William are listed as witnesses on August's marriage certificate. I can't find out how they are related though. There must be a connection. Someone must know something about this. Thanks for any information you may have.

My mother and I are searching for descendants of Peter WEIR who lived in the Shelby Township, Michigan, area around 1860 - 1884. My mother is a great-great-granddaughter of Peter and would love to locate family photos. (She is in possession of the family Bible.) We believe Peter was born at sea while his family was on the way to Canada; we are not sure from what country. In 1853, Peter migrated to the USA and married Ann Maria Flagg on October 15, 1853, in Port Huron, Michigan. We would also like information on Ann Maria. Peter died on March 19, 1884, and is buried in the Utica Cemetery, Utica, Michigan. Peter had 5 children by Ann Maria and may have others by a first wife, in Canada. Children's names were Edward, Mary Elizabeth, Richard, Ellen Maria (from whom my mother is descended) and Sarah Ann.

The 1850 Macomb Co. census shows Alanson ARNOLD (48) m. to Weltha (44). Children are George (17), Abraham (15), William (13), Joseph (8), and Martha Converse (1). Also in the household was Huldah A. BURT (or BIRD, 90). The 1840 census supports age and sex of children, and also shows a male age 70-80 and a female age 10-15. The 10-15 female may have married by 1850, and the 70-80 male may have died.

What was Weltha's maiden name? Who were her parents? When and where in NY was she born? What are the date and location of her marriage and death, or did they divorce? Was the 70-80 male in Alanson's household the husband of Huldah A. BURT or BIRD? What was his name? What was their relationship to Alanson or Weltha? Was the 10-15 female a daughter? What was her name? Who, when and where did she marry, or when and where did she die - whichever is appropriate?

Abraham ARNOLD m. Emma UMPHREY in Macomb Co. Jan. 31, 1858. The ARNOLD family then homesteaded in Iowa (except George and Joseph), where they are found on the 1860 census. This census finds Alanson m. to Asenath with Abraham, William, and Martha. It also lists Kent (b. in MI, 5), Emma (20), and Odell (age 1, Abraham and Emma's child). Abraham and Emma also had daughter, Mary, and son, Emmet (my g grandfather), while in Iowa. The family returned to MI c. 1863 when Abraham volunteered for service in the Civil War. He died Feb. 1865 while serving in Little Rock, AR. Alanson's family (Kent now listed as Calvin K.) is found in Avon, Oakland Co. in 1870; Emma and children are in Macomb Twp. in 1870.

What was Asenath's maiden name? Who were her parents? Censuses say Asenath was born in NY, but her death return says NJ. What are the date and location of her birth and marriage? Was the child, Kent, the son of Weltha or Asenath? What became of Calvin K. after 1870? George stayed in Michigan, married, and served in the Civil War; what became of Joseph?

Abraham's widow, Emma (UMPHREY) ARNOLD m. Hiram RICHARDSON Sept. 20, 1873 in Romeo. Hiram lived in Shelby Twp., had been previously married and had children, Lyman, Adelaide, and Eddy. Emma and Hiram had a son, William, in 1875. By 1880, Emma and Hiram had moved to Tuscola Co.

Who was Hiram's first wife? When and where die she die, or did they divorce? Did they have other children? Seems like the more I learn, the less I know. Any information would be most welcome and appreciated!
